Profile at 22 weeks or 5 months pregnant. I’ll try to remember to post a profile in each successive month.
Yesterday we met my midwife for the first time, thus far we’ve been talking over the phone or via e-mail due to the thousands of miles separating us. Valerie is wonderful, and it was great to meet her. Even more eventful, we were able to listen to the baby’s heartbeat for the first time: 136 bpm steady and strong! Normal range is 120-160 bpm. So, our baby’s heartbeat falls under the “slow” category since it’s less than 140 bpm, which I’ve heard is an inaccurate indicator of the baby’s gender, and it tends to discern BOY. But, we’ll see in October!
Today, we drove to my mom’s house in NY to meet our moving truck and household goods. We’ll remain here for the weekend, and store most of our altogether accumulated furniture and mouns of stuff in mom’s basement. We’ll be able to take a few things back with us to PA (I’m really missing my shoes about now, all I have to wear are 1 pair of running shoes and flip flops).
It’s a little strange living in limbo between 2 homes of family members, but I guess that’s what family is all about. We’ll extend the same hospitality and house displaced family members one day. . . when we actually have a permanent residence of our own and we aren’t moving to the ends of the earth every 4 years!
