Water bug

Calvin’s getting used to certain things which is good and bad.  Dirty diapers don’t seem to bother him as much as they did only a few weeks ago.  We may have to start this potty training thing earlier than we thought!  We don’t want him to get comfortably used to sitting in his own poopy pants.  On a good note, he goes down for bedtime most times without a fuss.  He knows when we tuck him in bed for the night that we’ll be back, we’re not abandoning him, and that it is time to go to sleep.  Naptimes are another story, but if he’ll sleep a good 5-8 hours at night, I’m thrilled.

He’s also used to the water.  We shower with him and bathe with him . . . so much more water immersion than available in a baby tub.  While we support his head, the rest of his little body floats.  He loves it and swims with his arms and legs.  When his feet are against the side of the tub, he’ll push off and swim more.  I wish we had a larger tub, since we can only fill it up about 8 inches deep.  It’s so much fun to see him smiling and enjoying the water.

Calvin’s also making more vowel sounds on a frequent basis often in response to his mobile or us.   Now, that’s a lot of fun!
