Trompin’ and Stompin’

When the sun’s shining, we love to go on hiking adventures outoors.  A few weeks ago, we visited Dunrovin Farm near Crozet (west of Charlottesville) for a church parish picnic and worship event.  There were free roamin’ cows.

There were breathtaking vistas.

There was a large mountain/hill which we ascended for worship just before sunset.

My 17-month old tromped through the hip-high grass in his new Keen® Newport H2 sandals which provided a steady tread, generous toe protection, and comfortable breathability as he tackled this hillside hike.

The hike was worth it, because afterward, we got to do this:

. . . enjoy the languid sunset on the emerald grass while singing praises to the Creator of this vasty beauty.

My son liked the dogs, the strawberries, the cows, running through the tall grass, and he especially loved his new shoes.

The most amazing waterproof sandals for sand and surf are now available for little feet.  Babies, toddlers, and kids can all have a piece of this unstoppable footwear action by Keen® with the Newport H2, just in time for summer hiking fun!

Toddler’s Perspective

My son thinks they’re the coolest shoes evah, probably in large part because they look just like a pair of Keen® sandals owned by his Daddy.  Of all of my son’s shoes, and he has quite a few, the Keen® Newport H2 water sandals are hands down, his favorite which he hand selects for outings.  Once I help him strap ’em on, watch out!  He’ll start running in place, stomping with a frenzy, and emitting the deepest and loudest little-man roar you’ve ever heard.  Then, I’ll find him walking around admiring his Newport H2’s, every so often picking up his leg to hip height to admire his cool sandals in all their glory.

Mom’s Stamp of Approval

Waterproof, easy to clean, and quick-drying  means super low maintenance on my part.  Hook and loop closure ensures a snug fit on the ankle and that my son will eventually be able to slip them on and off by himself (one he increases his toddler manual dexterity skillz).  The sole wraps up over the toes for some seriously intense toe protection for my toddling walker.

  1. Our favorite place to play is the ocean by my SIL house. we can spend all day there. We will go this summer again and these shoes will be perfect for my 17 month old. I put a comment on the blogaversary bash link too! I think I will choose size 7 toddler since I already have a size 6 Teva from a consignment store. I like the pink color: crocus

  2. Following you on Twitter and tweeted about this giveaway. @lavonnelong is my username

  7. My family enjoys going to a state park about a half hour from here and playing in the water and hiking up the trails. For some fun a little closer to home, we go to a smaller park nearby that has a playground and a pond and plenty of nature to explore. I would love the Crocus in size 11 for my daughter, thanks!

  9. We’re a family that goes camping at least 2 times a month starting in May and ending in Sept. If you can’t find our family in our Keen’s we’ll probably be hopping in the streams, riding our bikes or taking a short hike over to the hot pools near our favorite campgrounds!

  10. Love the purple H2 in size 2 youth for my oldest daughter, though I’d have my daughter in the caribbean blue H2’s if she would stop her growth spurts so for now I’ll take the purple. 🙂

  11. We love playing in String Lake in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Don’t get out that far west very often, but when we do, it’s a family must. Loving the Topaz in size 10.

  12. We like to go splash around at the beach. Luckily we live right on the Atlantic.

I think the H2 Camo size 8 would work best for my son. Thanks!

  21. My favorite place to get dirty with my 3 monkeys is this stream and nature area in our neighborhood, called “Narnia.” We play down there often. My daughter would love the Calistoga in Jade Green, size 12.

  22. I’d love to win a pair of size 1 Newport H2s in Pinecone for our little guy. As for hiking, well . . . we don’t really hike (we’re more of a stay-inside-and-read-many-books sort of family), but I think there’s supposed to be good hiking around here, and we really should. Thanks for putting the thought in my head! The most recent place we played in the water was the Water Garden at our local zoo.

I commented on your Bash post, and thanks for the giveaway!

  23. Purple size 13
My kids and I enjoy playing at the Veterans Memorial Park that is near our house.
