Froggy Jamboree

sam_cover_228x206Ben Rudnick and Friends’ latest release, A Frog Named Sam is available on March 24th.  Get ready for some jamboree fun with instrumentals and lyrics that take you from the boggy swamps (A Frog Named Sam) to the bayou (Old Joe Clark) via the racetrack (Race Car) and train track (The Santa Fe).

The entire family will be high-steppin’ a jig to the catchy beats and singin and swingin’ accordian, mandolin, harmonica, and other lively instruments.

We first popped this CD in the stereo during dinner time.  Probably not the best time to listen to it, because all Calvin wanted to do was clap his hands and dance instead of focusing on eating his food.  At 16 months, he steps to a very coordinated jig when these tunes are playing!

If you’re a fan of classic tunes, you’ll nostalgically remember Three Little Fishes, Erie Canal, and Greensleeves to some contemporary updates.  CD run time length is 33 minutes of knee-slapping, toe-stompin’ jamboree fun.  Sample the tracks and check out the lyrics on Ben Rudnick & Friends site.

Top Tracks: A Frog Named Sam, The Santa Fe, Greensleeves

Although this album is recommended for ages 4+, I’d highly recommend it for all ages, from infant to great-grandparent for a full range of family listening and dancing fun.

  1. Hi, Dolly,
I decided I’ll have to pick this one up even if I’m not the winner — with Ben’s Jig and John’s Jig, I’ve got half my kiddos covered. . . now convince them they need and Will’s and a Maddie’s and we’ll be set. I love the SUpercalifragilisticexpealidocious song, and it’s on the Blast Off CD.

Thanks for the suggestion. I can imagine we’ll be jamming here at our home.
